Arturo Infante Vieiro

Arturo Infante Vieiro graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte in 2000 with a degree in theatre theory and from the International School for Film and Television a year later with a concentration in scriptwriting. He continued his studies at conservatories in Paris and Oaxaca and ultimately returned to San Antonio de los Baños. In 2005 he received a "creation grant" from the Ludwig Foundation and the Ludwig Museum for Contemporary Art in Budapest. He has written and directed films including Gente que llora (People Who Cry) (2001), Flash Forward (2005), and Edén Perdido (Lost Eden) (2007). He has received acclaim in Cuba and internationally, winning prizes from the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, among others.

Arturo Infante Vieiro se graduó del Instituto Superior de Arte en 2000 donde estudiaba teoría teatral y también de la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) un año después con una especialización en la escritura de guiones. Continuó sus estudios en conservatorios en París y Oaxaca y últimamente regresó a San Antonio de los Baños. En 2005 recibió una beca de creación de la Fundación Ludwig y el Museo Ludwig de Arte Contemporáneo en Budapest. Ha escrito y realizado películas como Gente que llora (2001), Flash Forward (2005) y Edén perdido (2007). También ha recibido reconocimiento tanto en Cuba como en países extranjeros, y ha ganado premios del Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, entre otros.
